The Free-School is about improving people's lives through education. It is free of charge and based on a system of mutual support. We strive to provide opportunities for students and community members to learn and grow together. Knitting 101

Nicole hails from Grimsby, ON. and take pride in being born and raised within the Niagara Region. She is quickly nearing the completion of her undergraduate in Psychology and planning to then make her way to McMaster where she will be preparing for a career in social work. Knitting is very important to her, she feels that is an easily obtainable form of meditation, creativity and benevolence which empowers, inspires and relaxes the individual.
Knitting FreeSkool allows for the fluid sharing of knitting knowledge, techniques and supplies between individuals of all skill levels, in an open and safe environment. Knowledgeable individuals are encouraged come and knit for social change by sharing their skills with others, as well as, learn how to donate their creations to the RAFT (Resource Association for Teens) or any valued cause. Willing novices will also be given a chance to learn about the individual and social benefits of knitting. Along with gradually build the mental and physical techniques associated with the two basic knit and purl stitches, which enables the creation of anything.

The Internet - A beginners how-to

Michael Carrigan studies English Language and Literature at Brock University. His interests include writing, web design and video games.
Students will be learn about a different topic each week in the computer lab. Topics include, basic web design using HTML, hosting personal websites and registering Domains, fundraising online, search engine optimization, how to find stuff online, how to get the most out of social media, privacy and security online, free software alternatives, and how to track finances online.
